The7thGatekeeper’s latest single “Amulet” carries a feeling of unfinished business. Based in Barry, South Wales, the artist delivers something more primitive, unpolished and in doing so, creates a deeper emotional resonance than some of his previous tracks. As always, The7thGatekeeper is inspired. He initially recorded “Amulet” as a quick demo, but later revisited the track after reading a short story by Thomas Morris. The result is soaked in a raw, almost childlike feeling that deep rooted belief in something lucky. Like a small object you carried in your pocket just in case. This emotion becomes the song’s core. You can hear it in the clang of the chords, in the honest imperfections, and in the refusal to over polish any element of the track. It’s Messy, yes but intentionally so. It brings to mind the early rawness of bands like queens of the stone age and the fuzz heavy intensity of jack white’s solo work.
With “Amulet”, The7thGatekeeper is clearly venturing into new territory. It’s always a risk to shift your sound, but here, it pays off. He doesn’t just experiment he lets us into the creative process. This track isn’t meant to be clean or refined, it’s meant to feel alive, born from a real moment rather than a polished production. That’s what gives it its charm. The raw emotions and honest textures of “Amulet” leave a lasting impression and that’s exactly the point. It’s not just a song, it’s a signal of where The7thGatekeeper is heading. With a second album on the horizon and lice shows being considered, “Amulet” feels like an open door into a wider, evolving musical world.
