Chris Cachia has a new music project called “The 27th Letter”, a 5-track EP that showcases his lyrical and philosophical skills. He’s known for his strong rhythm and way with language, which bring a higher level of thinking to hip-hop music. After taking an 8-year break to focus on his mental health, Chris is back making music and performing, and his recent work has been well-received, even charting on college radio. Through his music, he addresses important issues like mental health and social injustice, making his work both personal and impactful.
The EP starts with “Good and Evil”, a strong song that sets the tone and talks about important issues like activism and inequality. The next song, “Inside and Outside”, has quick and clever rhymes that show off Cachia’s skills. The main single, “Hot and Cold”, highlights Cachia’s confidence with a big and intense sound. “Above and Below” keeps exploring the idea of opposites with complex lyrics, and the last song, “Bars and Bass”, has a lot of clever wordplay over classic hip-hop beats.
Chris Cachia and producer Charlie McEvoy worked together on the EP, and it’s one of the best parts. McEvoy’s production is smooth and complements Cachia’s strong rapping, reminiscent of famous rapper-producer teams from the past. They’ve been friends since childhood, and their music shows how well they work together. McEvoy has a studio in Stratford, Ontario, and Cachia balances his music with being a dad, husband, teacher, and creative person. “The 27th Letter” shows off Cachia’s strength and skill. He takes his personal struggles and turns them into strong music, making this EP a must-listen for hip-hop fans.
