Doja Cat extends a heartfelt apology to her New Jersey fans following what she perceived as a subpar performance during the Scarlet Tour at the Prudential Center in Newark. While she had declared the previous night’s Brooklyn stop as her “best night,” the Jersey show seemed to fall short of expectations. Taking to her Instagram Story after the performance, she expressed regret, stating, “I’m so f***in sorry New Jersey, I don’t know what the f*** that was. I’m really not happy with my energy tonight.” It’s worth noting that Doja Cat had disclosed feeling unwell the night before at the Barclays Center and even contemplated skipping the final song due to sickness but ultimately persevered.
Despite occasional setbacks, such as a microphone glitch during her Los Angeles show while performing “Kiss Me More,” Doja Cat’s Scarlet Tour, her inaugural arena trek, has generally proceeded smoothly. The tour, featuring Doechii and Ice Spice, spans 24 dates, commenced on the West Coast last month, and will conclude in Chicago on December 13
In a prior Denver performance, Doja Cat playfully hinted at the financial success of one of her major solo hits. “Come on cash grab,” she exclaimed before launching into her 2020 hit “Say So.” Earlier in May, Doja Cat had revealed in now-deleted tweets that her albums “Planet Her” and “Hot Pink” were initially motivated by financial considerations, describing them as “cash-grabs.” Despite these revelations, “Say So” remains one of Doja’s best-selling songs, achieving 6x platinum status and reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with a remix featuring Nicki Minaj in 2020.
