‘Electronic Spirit’: A Cinematic Odyssey Through Sound

Estimated read time 2 min read

‘Electronic Spirit’, Truth Lamp’s first album, released on 22 November 2024, is filled with the artist’s unique sound and many deep instrumental touches. Jamie Shavdia, or, as he calls himself, Truth Lamp, is an artist filled with the emotions that created the album, which brings a lot of narrative, visual components, and diversity. The music was produced with complete cinematic depth and rich textures. This is an album worth celebrating and one that demonstrates the multi-faceted talent of Shavdia as a musician, producer, and storyteller as a whole.

                                                                                                                                 Truth Lamp

The work of Shavdia is perfectly and delicately interlaced into 12 tracks, revolving around the different styles of the electronic genre and associated with the works of Orbital, Leftfield, Aphex Twin, and other electronic legends. Each of the tracks features a unique sound and style, exploring the fusion of electronic drums, live instruments, and engaging samples. “Awakening” and “From A Sapling Seed” seem destined to rock the dancefloor, while “Intelligence” is an introspective work about artificial intelligence and its place in the sphere of humanity. But perhaps the unique nature of the album lies elsewhere. It is not so much the clash as the balance that chaos must find with calm. The psychotherapist and mindfulness teacher in Shavdia is visible everywhere within the emotional spectrum in the music. Even “The Mission”, transmits listeners to the border of space, “The Void”; the last work on the disk perfectly completes the composition.

With the assistance of Seppa, a famous producer, the album was completed after being recorded for two years at Truth Lamp Studios. Shavdia’s commitment to providing difference in every track guarantees that the project has global appeal. ‘Electronic Spirit’ is an extraordinary auricular experience be it for all the electronic music heads or someone new to the genre.
