Vanilla Ice recently revealed that he has an unreleased song with the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard, but, unfortunately, it will never be shared with the public. In a multipart interview with Vlad TV on November 29, the “Ice, Ice Baby” rapper explained the reasons behind keeping the song private and paid tribute to the late ODB. “I did a song with him. It never came out and it will never come out,” Vanilla Ice stated. “I’d never do that to family or any of those people. But he was a friend of mine at the last part of his life which was probably the worst part of his life. But we did have some good conversations when he wasn’t high, you know what I mean? He was all there. Dude was a badass. A freaking poet, man.”
Reflecting on Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s struggles with addiction, Vanilla Ice emphasized the difficulties of overcoming such challenges. “But yeah, that stuff gets ya and it doesn’t let you go. And if you’re not strong enough to get away from it or have self-discipline to pull yourself out of something, it’s got ya. You’re just gonna go with it. He was way too deep. You could tell, man. Poor guy.”In addition to discussing ODB, Vanilla Ice debunked myths surrounding MC Hammer’s financial situation, highlighting their continued friendship and MC Hammer’s resilient recovery from financial setbacks.
