Recorded in Thessaloniki with a special tuning in 12-string guitar, Stray Blue’s ‘Wake Up & Smile – Acoustic Version’ is a special limited edition vinyl. After 20 years of work and creating emotion, the band wanted to return to its origins and remind fans of how they sounded 20 years ago. Founded by Nick Anastasakis, alongside George Athanas and George Papazoglou, the music of this trio is always based on sincere emotions and true-life events. In this EP, the band wanted to strip the music to the basics and show its raw truth. After all, the most important is not how it sounds but what you want to tell your listener with your words and music. The EP includes 2 songs that, in their acoustic version, convey the best emotions.

“Wake Up & Smile – Acoustic Version” is a meditation. The chord progression, with the sound of acoustic guitars and vocals by Nick Anastasakis, is a story that a friend tells you on a beautiful Sunday morning. Wake up, smile, even if you don’t want to. Wake up and look around. The song speaks about life that has not turned out the way you imagined it. At the same time, it also says that it doesn’t matter. Just don’t turn away. Just be here. Be yourself. Even if you don’t feel like it, smile.
“Moody Sky” with Yoed Nir is the soundtrack to a deserted street. The heavy and sophisticated cello sound by Yoed Nir subconsciously switches the setting in which the first song lives. The song rolls on the cool breeze that looks for a place to stop and find shelter. However, even though the first song encourages you to keep going, this one makes you want to stop for a while.
